If you suspect the system connector of the battery has come into contact with water, or if the battery looks damaged in any way, do NOT insert the battery into the jetboard or connect it to the charger.

Always make sure that you store your jetboard and battery in a dry environment, and inserting and removing the battery from your jetboard in dry conditions away from the water.
Regularly inspect the integrity of the battery gasket (the foam part around the connector), and make sure that the battery connector pins are free of potential corrosion.
